At dawn on India’s Malabar Coast, a pearl diver rose from turquoise waters clutching four lustrous pearls - each one a soft echo of the Arabian Sea. By noon, they lay on a Kochi goldsmith’s bench beside seven brilliant diamonds from Rajasthan’s Aravalli foothills, their icy fire ready to meet the pearls’ gentle glow. In a single, deft motion, the artisan set the pearls like moonlit beacons at the compass points of a golden band. At its heart, seven diamonds clustered like stars above the Outback, while four smaller tanzanites - two on each side - whispered balance along the shank.
